Zeke is going to shed!

Zeke is going to have his first shed with me! His eyes are milky and has not been active, just balled up in his hide. I noiticed a couple days ago he looked blue and today his eyes are milky. I read somewhere that there eyes go back normal and then he sheds in like 48hours...I have his temps right(he is on his warm side) and I am moving his water dish more towards the warm side to raise humidity. Now what do I do? He last ate on 8/14 He was due to be fed again yesterday but I did not want to until I could ask here. Should I feed him or should I leave him alone? Thanks. I am sooooooooo nervous :)

Relax,i suggest you to wait until after he sheds like maybe the next feeding time.It will not hurt him to miss a meal,infact him shedding shows he is growing and that shows your feeding him properly:D .You can spray him a few times during this shed cycle to help with the humidity also if its needed.

Thank you so much :D I am trying to take such good care of him. I am trying to absorb as much info from this forum as I can. I have been going through just reading threads to gain some knowledge. I took the advice I read to feed him on a schedule and to keep a "diary" of his feeds. So since he has shed do you think I can up the size of his feed? He was eating small hoppers before this.

If you do not notice a lump after you feed him you can try to bump him up on the size of rodent.Now sometimes balls might be leary of a bigger foor prey,some just do not care its food and thats enough for them lol.As far as keeping him on a regular feedings is great but you can skip them when he is in the shed cycles without any negative results.

I am feeding julius med/large mice and she doesnt show significant bulges after eating.. she is probably around 200g - maybe a bit more. what should she be eating?

You do not want to see a lump when feeding a bp. It sounds like you are good. I'd stick with that for awhile, then eventually you can feed two.

ok good, i say joepythons post and it said if we dont notice a lump - we should feed larger prey

Some people do feed larger meals, and can experience long periods of fasting. I prefer smaller myself.

A 200g bp is pretty small. A medium/large mouse should be adequate. (at least to my mind)

I may be wrong about the weight.. She is an 06 hatchling obviously, but she was 159g when I took her to the vet.. That was like 6 or 7 weeks ago
