    Water Monitor Update
Ok, I put a 8 crickets in the tank this morning to see if he would come out and eat. Well I went to run a few erands and when I came home guess who was out and about. I don't know if he ate the crickets but I can tell you one thing He was at the side of the aquarium where my spider cage is and there was a cricket in there so maybe he was trying to get him. The second he saw me he RAN back in his hide. I just hope this passes and he will start to stay out when I come in the room. The one thing that makes me nervous is he was like this at the pet store everytime I went in there. Really shy and not wanting to come out.

:irkd: you have to realize that he has only been in capivity for about 3-4months if that. from what i here you decribing it sounds like you have a healthy juvi water. my little guy took weeks before he would come out. at least three. you have only had yours for what 5days.( :O mine wouldnt even eat for the first 7 days:O ) just keep feeding dusted crickets and hoppers. and all will be ok in time. with monitors there is no instant gratifaction. it takes years of hard work. i know people who do the work and they still have mean monitors. that is the gamble you take on when you buy a monitor. you kind of just need to forget you have him for now. feed him and leave him alone.;)
