Pretty jumpy but he has a great feeding record, and he should calm down in time.

Beautiful snake! He looks pretty healhty, Me and my brother were looking at a king today but we want something a little slower. Were thinking about gettin a redtail!
Re: Rescue: Desert Kingsnake
Cool snake; it Is nice to hear of someone who at least admitted they didn't want the herps, and surrendered them before they had the chance to be neglected/unhealthy. :)
Re: Rescue: Desert Kingsnake

The name game, isn't it fun!
Thanks everyone for your remarks.
And thank you for your interest in adoption. Sadly we still do not ship.
If I am pressed to find him a home (I still need to probe for sex), I may contact you. He still needs more blood drawn and another fecal after a month from now.
Feel free to cantact me at rustysreptiles@yahoo.com or the rescue line (860) 432-7925. This way I have your information in case we do decide to ship.
Thanks
Rusty

We are reffering to the animal as a Desert King,
When I mentioned the name game I was implying that it's name depends on who you ask.
Yup we're in CT.

Re: Rescue: Desert Kingsnake
I have always called that particular species "speckled kings", however, I have heard them called coastal kings (speckled coastal king). Like Rusty said, they seem to have different names depending on who you ask. To me though, I am from the desert (Arizona), and those are not the wild type I am use to finding in my home state. Heck, I have even heard of them being called speckled florida coastal kings....
The name game is no fun!
