Need Advice... Terrarium Pics
I have upload 3 pictures of my terrarium.. but pixel W x H was huge so i saved the path of the thumbnails. My temperatures are 88-90 for the hot side and 80-82 for the cool side (using Acu-Rite). My humidty is at about 35% now and I can seem to raise it. Im posting these pictures for people to offer advice or tips and tricks to get my environment to top notch. Thanks!

Hey,
To up the humidity move the water dish to the warm side and cover half of that screen top with plexiglass. The humidity will go up after that. If it does not get to proper levels then lightly mist the sides of the tank each morning. Don't forget to cover the screen. No humidity with all that open air.
Good luck

Re: Need Advice... Terrarium Pics
I would put the thermometer , or at least the bottom of it, on the ground so it takes the substrate bedding. I don't know any snakes that fly. LOL.
Nice setup though!

@Tybalt: Picture 2 the left side view... shows a hide and water bowl. So i have it half right? All i need to do is cover the screen top some how... I have no plexiglass.
@bpkid: I never thought of thought and i already used the sticky thing to stick it where it is.. :'( ideas?
Re: Need Advice... Terrarium Pics
Put more substrate under the thermometer until it gets to the bottom of the thermometer.
Re: Need Advice... Terrarium Pics
Awsome I will do that as soon I get home. Next thing... Wha tdo you reccomend I cover the top with (that has a UV and heat lamp on it). I want my humidity to 55% and it currently sits at about 31-34% (which is crap!)
Re: Need Advice... Terrarium Pics
Get rid of the heat lamp, you don't need it. All you need is a Under tank heater like a heat pad. The reason the humidity is so low is the light is sucking all the humidity out. Cover the screen with whatever you want, I use damp towels. I know someone here uses food wrap.
Re: Need Advice... Terrarium Pics
OK GOOD. thats progress... now at my local pet store Mr Petman they sell Small, Medium and Large pads. What size pad should i get for a 20 gal tank that would keep the left side at 90 and not bother the right side at 80??? (thanks for your help)
So your telling me if i buy a heat pad (which i will do within 30 minutes, because im leaving work) and cover the rest of the top (aside from where the UV light it) with (spelling)seran wrap I can create humidity?
Re: Need Advice... Terrarium Pics
You dont need UV either, I would save it though, just in case you ever want a lizard.
Leave some space that isn't covered though, so he can get some air. Get the heat pad that can go under half your tank/tub.
Re: Need Advice... Terrarium Pics
stupid lady at Mr petman convinced me to by forest bark substrate instead of a heat pad...:(
