    substrate for savanah??
i've had a few monitors in the past...always adult rescues.
My husband bought me a savanah hatchling for our anniversary and I was wondering what substrate would be best for her. I have been using eco-complete and have a 4" bed which she digs in constantly. I'm wondering if it will compact if injested (like when she dives for crickets and gets one with a face full of dirt!)

    Any suggestions???

she won't become impacted on eco earth. the best substrate for most monitors id dirt. plain dirt frm outide to burrow in. the best dirt is in dry stream beds.

Nope. with monitors nothing needs to be sanitized. maybe hosing down a branch or something that you're going to put in the cage but other then that, dont worry.
