Gosh darn son of a dirty rotten pup mites
Hey everyone,
Found out today that Aza does indeed have mites. Got back last night from a week long road trip to Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Great time. Fell in love with a kitten while down there, a gorgeous Sphynx. Bought it and took him home with my girlfriend. Got back, Aza had extremely dry scales, possibly scale rot though the humidity and temp were good and the substrate wasn't soaked. Parents said she had been soaking a ton while I was gone. Cleaned out the aspen, tossed the old cheap hides (cardboard). Now 3 sides are closed off by cardboard (little tip I read on here to increase Aza's security), sprayed down everything with Mite-Off. Covered here fairly lightly and put in new paper towel bottom with new hides and a smaller water dish. Everything looks great. Random journaling I guess was the point of this and an update.

By the way, what did your sphynx run you? We have been eyeing them for about 2 yrs. Any pics?

$400. Not bad since I've been seeing a lot of $700-2000 prices. He's amazing. Sleeps with my girlfriend and I every night. His name is Doorknob and I'll have some pics up of him probably tonight. I highly recommend them. I'm sticking with them for any other cats I feel I need or possibly a Devon Rex.

arent Sphynx's those hairless really ugly cats???
Re: Gosh darn son of a dirty rotten pup mites
lol yeah. i thought they were ugly too from seeing them in movies and magazines. my girlfriend spotted the kitten in a pet store when we were on the roadtrip to louisiana. needless to say, i fell in love with it. up close they are like little kids that grow on you. i honestly don't think i could ever own a regular cat now besides possibly a devon rex or egyptian mau. there are some pics up in my gallery and on one of the posts in off topic. i love snakes and they're hairless so i figure my cat outta be too.
