    Sob!!! Its a male!!!!
I'm broken hearted. My precious, beautiful greenbottle blue tarantula finally came out of hiding after a moult last night, and it has boxing gloves and hooks!!!!
(To those of you not familiar with tarantulas, that means it is a mature male, and has only a couple of months of life left)
I have found him a wife, and if the mating is successful, will have some of his babies, but I'll still loose him. Sometimes, if you mate a male, you can get them to live beyond what they would in the wild, so if he survives the mating, I'm going to try to get him to live and moult again. I might be able to add as much as another year to his life. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!!!!!!

Glad you found him a sparring partner at least!

Good luck on coaxing out his post-mating longevity!

I have yet to try and breed any of our T's - or actually to even closely investigate and try to sex them - but we've had most of them upward of a couple years. No GBB's . . . . yet . . ;)
