little update on the ackie

well today has been a good day. my ackie took his first f/t pinkie. he had previously been taking live because that was all i was offering. i guess its not that big of a feet considering he's a monitor and not a finicky BP, lol. anyways, he also took 20+ mealworms that i fed one at a time from my fingers. now, thats AWESOME news for a monitor considering he had previously been refusing them and now i can hand feed him to "tame" him. plus, some monitors never get to the point of eating from your hand.

i dont have any pics (ive been posting a bunch lately anyways) but next time i feed him mealworms from my hand ill try to get some pics.

its amazing how fast they grow. when i put a picture of when first got him up to a picture of him now it looks like he could eat himself, lol. anyways, thanks for listening.

Congrats. I get worried when I feed my sav by hand. Everytime he see's my hand he looks at it like its food and I am worried he will bite me. Just something to consider

he actually seemed to be watching out to not bite my hand, however crazy that sounds. i wasnt too worried, allthough the thought did cross my mind.

I feed my sav by tongs - and when I'd finished yesterday I put the tongs down and he made a grab at them and kept sniffing and licking them for a little while. I was careful to keep my hand out the way that smelled of rodent.
