    julius ate double!
    !!

i offered her some food today not expecting her to take it since she has been looking like she was about to shed for a few days now. needless to say she took it without thinking about it and it was gone in minutes. in her feeding box, i had the other mouse in its container, and no sooner than she had finished eating she was poking her head into the mouses box.

i knocked the box over to see if she was interested in taking it, and the mouse ran out only to get tagged by julius and eaten!

this is the first time she has ever eaten double what she is usually eating. she ate about 5 or 6 days ago, so I was not planning on giving them both to her, i have been switching her to prekilled and was just going to freeze the other mouse.

is this okay? should she be eating two mice in a sitting like that?

right after she finished the mice she went back into her hide and started shedding.. two hours later she was all done! however there is still a bit of shed skin on her - some on her back and some on the top of her head.. any good way to get this off without hurting her or pissing her off?

    thanks!

Eating two mice in one sitting won't hurt her...but there's a good chance she'll be "full" for awhile and may miss the next feeding or two. Don't be too worried if she does.

As for the little bit of stuck shed...don't worry about it. For sure, don't try to do anything about it for the next 48 hours, at least...she needs plenty of time to digest that big meal before you mess with her. It won't hurt to just leave it alone completely and let her rub it off herself or wait for the next shed.
