Grrrr......

I am pretty ticked. Something (rat, mouse, wombat) chewed a hole THROUGH the ceiling of our laundry room and stole a bag of rat food! I had some pellets in a plastic baggie.. they are gone.
I have had no escapees.. I am pretty mad here. There is cardboardy ceiling stuff everywhere. This is a "mudroom" type room, nothing above it but roof, was an addition to the house... sigh...

RAT TRAPS!!! We had problems with rats a while back. They would come through the drain in the floor(Old house) and try to get to where the food was, Even if it meant chewing through a 1/2" thick solid wood door!!! Good luck catching the theives

The bad thing about raising rodents is that you create ideal conditions for all rodents. Personally I like the sticky traps ... put them right next to their hole and youll catch them in a few days. They also seem to "call for help" when stuck and usually end up with more than just one mouse in the glue.


Mouse and rat traps hurt when you forget where you put them and step on or grab one. They are also pretty hard on my peanut butter loving dog, and he simply cant resist ... even though he knows its going to scare the "poop" out of him.

Depending on where you live, it can also be squirrels. I've found squirrels tend to "carry off" stuff where as mice and rats will simply chew through and eat on the spot.

Possible for it to be raccoons too! We have a raccoon that loves to get into my neighbors house through an opening in thier roof, everytime he comes out, he has some food. I've seen it carry away loaves of bread from her kitchen out of the roof, and many other things you would not think a coon would haul off.
