    Hey, Becky?
Is the Hill's stuff you told me to get supposed to be in dog/cat food form? Or formula form?
I was able to get some today, but it's in solid canned food form. It's hard to get that to go through the tube I have, is there another way to get it down?

Yep, it's a dog/cat high-calorie food that comes in a small can. Mix it with water to make it slightly soupy but still thick and then syringe feed it. It mixes very easily with water. Make sure to store it in the fridge with the lid on it(if they gave you a lid).

I would think after 2-3 feedings, you will notice a marked difference in energy and weight gain. This food is something his body can actually use and gain weight off of, as it has alot of high quality animal protein(no by-products). Hopefully it will get him off the ground and more willing to eat on his own.

Well, they didn't give me a lid, but I can put it in a storage container, no problem.
I'm not sure how to syringe feed. I have one, but I normally stick a tube on it. I'm a little afraid of clogging her breathing, should I be?

LoL, I meant tube feed. I'm runnin' off about 5 hours of sleep and can be a bit incoherant at times, haha.

Ya know what I meant, woman! ;)

Haha, no, I really thought you meant without the tube! lol
I'll give it a go right now, see if I can get it through the tube!

A/d is pretty easy to tube feed as that is generally what it is used for. Make it just soupy enough to get through the tube, but not so watery as it doesn't have any substance left.

Well, I hope at least some of that made sense, LoL! I have some food in me now, so hopefully that is contributing to the sense-making ability :)

Yeah, that makes sense, I'll try it :)

So why are you operating on so little sleep??

Well, 60+ hour work weeks between 2 jobs and I go(went) to school(which is over now and I graduate next week). It's just been a very hectic summer and I barely have much time to sleep, not to mention spend much time with my ratties and snakes. It's getting better though, at least school is over and I can spend more time working and saving money.

As soon as I finish my internship hours(1.5-2 weeks or so left), I can just work a regular job until I save up enough money, and then I can move elsewhere, possibly Dallas, so I can try to get in at the Baylor Medical Center. Their research facility is outstanding.

    Re: Hey, Becky?
Ok, yeah, that would account for a wee bit of weariness ;)

Gah, you took me right back to my college days. How exhausting! I would be thrilled if you ended up in Dallas, though, we could hang out!

Well I gave Trey about 3.5 mL of the Hill's/water micture before the tube clogged up. Maybe I didn't use enough water, I'll try a tiny bit more next time. But wow, yeah, that stuff was much easier to get through the tube than anything else I've tried! You are THE BEST, hands down!

Glad it worked for you! I hope you start seeing a good difference in her and her activity level. Hopefully she will start to get more muscle mass, and then you can move onto actual food! WEE! :)

Yeah, I'd love to move to the outskirts of Dallas, it's a pretty area and not as congested as the city. I may also try for the Zoo, as working in the reptile department would be completely awesome.

I'm glad everything is going well and congrats on the new little boy and your newfound girl :) Yay Trey! Oh, and say Hi to Elphaba!
