Pastel Fund growing!

I am saving for a Pastel; I know, they're not hugely expensive as far as morphs go, but I am purposely doing this on my own and not "bumming" money from my man. Sold a buncha model horses on ebay (got GREAT prices for those!); have a bonus check from work coming, and I have a few more things to sell, and I should be there by the end of the month or mid September.
Here's my question.. is it reasonable to think that if I do get this Pastel male at this time, he will breed my girls this November, if he is an '06? I have read about TINY males breeding, and seen pics of this on a few breeders' sites, but I do NOT want to do this if it'll strett the little guy out.. I am thinking of just saving a little more $$ and getting an '05 to be safe; your thoughts?

Depends on when he was hatched- earlier on i've seen people selling saying the males could possibly breed.

Those are my babies; left to right, Emma, Domingo, Jenny, Cuesta. Jenny and Dom are up for sale; never intended on breeding my mares but my friend let it happen while they were boarded over there; long story..

Jen,i bought my pastel male last year in hopes of breeding him with my 2 girls this past season.I witnessed several lockups with each girl.One dropped eggs(all normals) the other nothing.I was told several things could have happened here.One was he did not pass the pastel gene,second the one female could have retained sperm from the year before.Third he was still to young but thought hey i think this is what i should be doing with this girl.I vote for the 2nd and 3rd reasons ;) . Now some have had there young males breed at this young age.I guess its all in the snakes genes or something.No puns attended here:D

Morphs are our candy. We save and budget and work extra to get them and then we are proud of our acheivment. What I would pay for a morph might not be the same as what Adam or Cue would pay. But they might freak to know what I spend on ink pens (fountain pens). Set your limit and stick to if it takes not buying a snake for a year or two or five to afford that Pastel or Platty then thats the real price we pay for our obsession. In the end its not the price tag but the satisfaction of getting that box from Adam or Bob Clark that is the pay back. Being able to enjoy keeping such rare and outstanding animals for 15 to 20 years is its own reward. Making life long friends and the knowledge we aquire is like gray, not need to go forward but that little bit extra that keeps us working for the next step

ive made a timeline + budget for these next two years on snakes.

gin, you shouldn't have a problem finding male pastels. there are alot out there on ads now. if you want to breed him this season i would get an 05 with some weight on him

500-700 grams. don't be afraid to make an offer on anyone's site even the big boy's/girl's, i would think that people would deal on male pastels. imo

Right on Freakie...Gus over at Rio Bravo has been sending out EVIL emails with links to his boas now for sale. They're expensive but you know they are going to be tip-top quality snakes. I'll hafta save a while to get a Surinam boyfriend from him for Carmen...=P
