Last BP clutches of the season
My second and third 66% poss het axanthic girls have now laid, the last two BP clutches of the season. I found the second girl on eggs about two weeks ago in the morning, but she wasn't done laying so I decided to let her be until after work. I got home and found four eggs in the middle of her tub, not adhered to one another, and her very tightly coiled around a single egg. I pulled them, and candled them and they all looked good, but I was still worried about the four eggs that sat around all day at about 81 degrees. A few days later, these four eggs started to go bad, and this is what they look like now...

I just wonder if she ditched the eggs right after I checked on her, she has always been very shy. I'm pretty bummed, but I'm hoping to still prove her out with the remaining egg, so wish me luck (especially you Tim, you seem to have a way with poss het axanthics :D).

Here's a pic of the third girl on her 6 big beautiful eggs.

    Thanks for looking!

Wow, bummer on the first clutch... but congrats on the second! :gj: That is pretty strange that she would abandon all 4 eggs. Did she move when you checked in on her in the morning?

I moved her head aside to count the eggs, but I didn't pull her off the clutch. She didn't seem too bothered by the intrusion, but I left right after I saw she wasn't done. Oh well, I wasn't expecting all three sisters to lay this season (the smallest of the three gave me a surprise clutch), so I'm still up one egg from what I expected, and I still have a chance to prove out all three, so I can't complain.

Evan, here comes some luck your way. When is that first clutch due? I've seen plenty of people prove out stuff with only one egg. It can be done. I'll be looking for some little Axanthics in the very near future.
    Congrats on that last clutch.

Aw, I am sorry about that; it's just how my eggs this season looked when they were going bad. But that one white egg holds some hope.. I hope it goes well and hatches.

Thanks guys. The first clutch is due to hatch in about 3 1/2 weeks, the other two have 40+ days, so it'll be a long month. At least Daytona is just around the corner, I'm sure that week will fly by.
