    Bittersweet snake story
Well I'll start off with a bit of good news.. I have a new scale kid. His name is Druid and he's a tangerine honduran milk. He was given to me by a friend.. the snake belonged to her sister who doesn't have the time/space for him anymore.

Bad news is.. he got out of his tub (which held a 5' boa constrictor for two months, no less) and wreaked havoc in the snake room. Luckily I found him.. but.. I think he ate my Nikolai.. my lovely little greyband king. Either that, or he let him out. Druid climbed up the shoebox rack and shoved Nikolai's shoebox halfway open. I know many colubrids are cannibals, and Druid was much bigger than Nikolai.. so I think my Nikolai is gone..

Anyway, Druid is in a rack tub now.. no more escapes.

have you felt the bottom of his stomach to check if he's full or if it's concave?

No.. Nikolai is so small I'm not sure I'd feel anything anyway.

Did you forget to tell him not to eat his roommates?

Congrats on the new addition, and I hope Nikolai shows up soon and is just MIA and not dinner.

Well I didn't think Druid would be such a troublemaker.. honestly.

I haven't lost all hope of finding my little orange baby. I hope he turns up..

Sorry to hear about the snake situation Shelby.

Is Druid "large" for a a milk snake. I have never seen one so think before.

Honduran milks are one of the larger species, he's fairly typical of an adult hondo. I've seen bigger.

Agh; sorry to read about that. We all have accidents and make mistakes; all we can do is move on I guess.
He does look pretty large/thick for a milk; is this normal? He looks super healthy/pretty.
