Bats anyone??

Kelly headed thru the drawing room last night. All the sudden I hear her yelling from the bathroom to find out what is flying around the room. I told her it was probably a bug and I only had 2 hrs. sleep and was not about to go chase bugs.
She wouldn't come out of the bathroom till I got up and checked things out. The cat was leaping and dancing on his hind legs . Idiot as usual. When I turned on the lights there was a bat hanging on the wall hissing at me. Cute as could be, Kelly came out then since bats are a favorite of hers. She had no idea what was flying, but it definitely wasn't a bug!! Yes he is free again. :)

Too cool. I LOVE bats. We even went so far as to erect a bat house in the backyard, but unfortunately no bats have showed up yet. :(

I like bats too! Funny, I haven't seen a bat in years but two night ago we had one buzzing around our back yard. Super cool. Maybe not so cool if it were in my house though. :rolleyes:

i loooove bats. they are soooo cute!!! we went for a walk the other evening and we say about 6 of them. too cool!!! we have lots of bats here.

i've been trying to get the hubby to make me a bat house for 4 years now... hopefully he'll make me one soon!

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. I was almost asleep , when I could feel wings brush my face (ever so lightly) and whatever it was, I knew was big (not an insect anyway). It kept doing this so, I army crawled from my bed to the door and made my escape! LOL When I peeked in my room, I saw a bat (small brown) hanging by one wing-claw from my ceiling fan. I promptly took him outside, and have loved bats always.

Aww; glad he got out OK and no one got hurt :) They're awesome little critters; bug eaters too.
We have a lot of them around here; there's actually a lodge in Allegany State Park (not too far away) where you can park out at sundown and watch the bast come out; first one, two.. then there are hundreds and maybe even thousands coming out of the attic!

We have bats at work (sign shop) out in the garage area, my boss is terrified of them. It's pretty funny to see a grown man duck and scream about this tiny thing flying around the high ceilings. I don't mind them, but sometimes they leave "presents" on my wet paint and it's kind of irritating...

Awwwh, so cute! I love bats, and they can be so surreal in person. Ever seen one run across the ground? They look like a Jim Henson creation!
