Trip to the ER (Gross out warning)
On Tuesday night I messed up one of my fingers pretty bad. It was feeding night and one of the rats got loose. It went into the storage room and under an old microwave stand, so when I moved the stand a flood light bulb fell off the back and shattered. By the time I got the stand moved the rat was about 4 feet away in the corner, and when I went to grab him he made a beeline behind bags of aspen mulch. I put my hand down the far side of the mulch to stop him from going where the glass was ........ and jammed my finger down on a shard sticking up. :O

    10 stitches later .......

The next day we checked the rat over and gave him a bath. Then Blaze took care of him for me!!!!!!

MMMH tasty! I want more Kung Pao chicken!

I know how bad that hurts - and I hate stitches. I wind up managing to do that kind of thing more often than I care to admit. Glad you caught the little booger who set it all off and he got his just desserts. Is that your main hand?

No, Its on my left hand, but I type most of the day so it has been interesting. If I use it too much it just starts bleeding again. Actually my arm hurts worse from the stupid tetanus shot than my finger does. Just have to keep from bumping it into everything.

    Ouch, looks quite painful.
I wish you a speedy recovery!

I haven't had any stitches thankfully, but I'm broken plenty of bones in my hand, I broke the same two metacarpals, three times so far.

    Owie!
I have a scar on one finger that looks exactly like that, also from a shard of glass.
Hope it heals up nicely for ya!
