Holy Smokes!

Went to the local pet shop....they have this thing called a European Legless Lizard. Freaky looking thing! It's got a snake body but a beaky lizard head!

I had never heard of such a thing :)

they're BIG too! the one in the store is over 3 feet long and as thick as beercan.

I agree. Snakes are lovely, those are creepy!
you should see it breathe....it's plated so it basically expands and contracts using these gaps that run along both sides of it - you can see these gaps or bands in the pic. AAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

I want one!! I NEED one! I mean. how many people can say they have a legless lizard? That's jsut bada$$!

Our favorite privately owned pet shop back in northern Michigan had a couple of those. One was calm enough to allow handling. Very very freaky to hold that thing. You sort of expect it to feel snakelike and it's all plated and hard and for some reason made me go "ick". Definitely not snakelike in any way to the touch.
