    She keeps missing mice
i have a bp that is around 1 yr 5 mounts or so. I've been feeding her live prey since getting her. Ive never tried a stunned prey until she sheds. She usually takes them easily first snag, but the last 3 weeks or so shes been missing. It started as 1 miss, but today she missed twice at close contact. I've been thinking of moving to small rats, but i don't want her to miss and be injured. I never leave the room when feeding. Did anyone else have these problems, it just worries me that maybe im not feeding enough or something? Thanks for the reponse.

in my past experiences snakes that commonly miss mice are a sign to early RI. is your snake striking and hitting the mouse and not opening its mouth?

ps:or there could be nothing wrong with your snake and you are just buying exceptionally fast mice.:)

It seems shes just off on location. Shes never hit the head portion she always hits behind the head towards the neck. there has been an instance where she squeezed but let go after 30 secs or so and the mouse limped away. it was horrible. And the mice i use seem to be pretty smart they wont go near my bp while its in the hide. They always stay on the other side of the enclosure. RI is curable correct its inclusive body disease thats not correct? She was "star gazing" the other night, but im very scared about that. She could have just been hungry. Thanks

when you say hit do you mean strike and not open its mouth to bite? RI's are curable and are no big deal when caught early although you may have to give your snake injections.

I havent really seen it up close. It seems as if she doesn't close quick enough, or hits a bad location and cant grab. Do you think when she was gazing at the ceiling she was hungry or infected. I'm gonna set up an appointment, its only 26bucks or so. Maybe i bought some mice that are offspring of speedy gonsales or whatever that cartoon was. LOL. Thanks a bunch
