    Shirts for hides???
I used to have like 10-15 ball pythons at any given time (6 or so yrs ago) and I always used an old shirt or something simillar for them to hide in, and besides it helped them peel off the shed (at least that was my justification), does anyone else do this or is this considered bad or something? Just would like some opiniones.

The fabric would be a haven for mold and bacteria unless the shirts were washed and replaced OFTEN.

Plastic, ceramic, etc are much more sanitary.

Hmmm, I never had a problem with it... Oh well, I dont think I will be using them anymore... Just was a way to use old clothes in the past.

I wash my plastic hides on a weekly basis...so if you washed all of the "shirts" that often I don't think it would be much of a problem. My old roommates used a shirt for their ball python and somehow it moved the shirt all over the cage, where it wanted to hide. They didn't wash the shirt anywhere near enough, but the snake seemed to choose that over the other hides that were in there.

Not my style or preference, but to each their own. I don't know how I'd feel about putting a shirt with urates and snake doo-doo in my washing machine.......
