    a night from he77
I'm doing this more to vent than anything else.

I woke up at around 9PM last night to only find that Lady has gotten out of her cage and the kitten was missing as well. to top that off I had a yard sail to stock for the morning and it was pooring rain.

could I get my husband to help me find the kitten and snake? oh heck no. he was "to busy" playing on the computer. then turned around and said that "if the snake wanted to be here with us it wouldnt have escaped"

Well I found the kitten under the couch with a sloppy sticky tail and what looked like a bite on it. and the hund was on to find Lady. I panicked and started pooring saw dust (i had no flour) at every door way of the house and turned the place upside down.
After I took a break i started to pick up the mess in the house and was putting the dresser back togeather when a small head poked out from the the top part of the dresser. so I put Lady back in her cage and went to find some more clips only to come back to an empty cage once again.

    This went on for hours!
all and all the snake was fine, the cat was scared for life, and my husband made me sleep on the couch.

I still have tons of stuff i need to sell and that wont get sold... due to it raining cats and dogs here... :sigh2: I need a new life (with my snakes)

Glad to hear you found your snakey; I had escapees way back when, and it only taught me to make their cages 100% escape proof.. a pretty useful lesson!
lol; I always joke w/ Mark, if we're arguing, that I'd rather sleep on our couch; it is more comfy than our bed!

thanks guys. I think I'm having a better day now. my cat is ok but is now 100% freaked out by the snakes and wont go any where near the snake room. I just got her back from the vet about 5 min ago (normal kitten check up) her tail was broken!! the snake tryed to eat her tail! poor kitty. I feel so bad. Lucky the kitten didnt try and attack her. The only thing I could think that might have happened was the cat's tail was twitching under neath the dresser and lady saw it as a food item.

I sware Lady has tree python in her... she will wrap her self around something while she eats to keep in one spot, that and she prefers to hunt from a branch and come at her prey from above.

oh what a horrid night!!! repeated loosing of your snake must have been unbelievably frustrating.

tell your hubby to get his butt in gear and support you better... cause you soooo deserve to be treated with love and respect REGARDLESS of what is going on! :hugs:

I highly doubt the snake broke your cat's tail while trying to eat it.

I kind of doubt the snake even tried to eat the cat's tail. Most snakes are programmed to kill their prey before eating it. I'm not sure how big the kitten is or how big the tail is, but if the kitten was big enough to be constricted it would probably be dead. If it was just the tail, I'm not sure why the kitten would have sat there waiting for its tail to be constricted and consumed before taking off or biting the snake.

Wow; I would think that if that happened to the kitty, he would have gotten terrified and ran around, making a clamor and waking you up. I just hope everything goes ok from here on in; put a padlock on that door with only you having a key to it, lol.
