Is that a python or a copperhead?
    Oh for crying out loud...

Okay, I've been sick recently and there's also been all kinds of chaos regarding getting the AC fixed. It works (or else we'd all be dying over here) but it leaks. A lot. Like...looks/sounds like it's peeing in the hallway, leaks. Karen and I have been emptying the bucket there a minimum of 3 times a day. We want it fixed. Finally, I know they're coming today but I am so tired and medicated ,and they have permission to enter so I figure I'll just stay in bed and let maintenance do their thing.

Well, when I don't answer the door they naturally assume I'm not home. And naturally amongst trying to figure up how an AC that isn't iced up is leaking this impressively, the prominantly displayed tanks/enclosures in the livingroom come up. They also note "rabbit city".

It is eventually decided that Falkor's tank holds a taranchula. The Beauty cages are more enticing, as they're obviously much bigger. One guy asks the other if he has the good flashlight.

Excitable Guy: "*expletive deleted* it's huge!"

Guy Actually Making Headway On AC: "What is it, a lizard?"

    EG: "No, man, It's a huge snake! I think that's a copperhead!"

    GAMHOAC: "A copperhead??"

EG: "That's definitely a copperhead. Or a python. Oh, man, it's coming out at me!" I know this to mean Ma-tsu must be sticking her head out of her hide to go "Wtf?" at the flashlight weilding vibration makers. "This one's even bigger than the other one!"

GAMHOAC: "Stop bothering the animals with the flashlight, man. Aw! The unit just *expletive deleted* cold water on me! *expletive deleted*!"

EG: "There's these huge red gloves on the one cage, I bet they're poisonous! Hey, man, I'll give you $10 to stick your hand in there!"

GAMHOAC: "*laughs* No way, uh uh, help me with this."

I'm relieved that this is his reaction, because I would have jumped up looking like crap in my pjs and told them off if anybody'd tried to reach into one of those cages and bother my babies! I was tempted as it was to get up and give them a herptology lesson.

They continue to work on the AC and tell giant python stories, the details of which I don't really remember and try to solve the mystery of why the AC is leaking and how to fix it.

Before they left EG dared the other guy to reach into a cage again for $10.

GAMHOAC: I don't even know what kind of snake it is! I'm not reaching in there. *expletive deleted*, people are crazy, snakes belong outside man."

Needless to say, just in case next time we need something fixed and it's EG again with someone less sensible than GAMHOAC, I am going to get up, be home, and supervise the livingroom forever after just to be safe. I don't need people being stupid, opening Neptune's cage, then blaming him and me for what happens and poor Neptune getting hurt. I'm also hoping they don't return to the office and claim I have copperheads. It's totally understandable to not know what a VBB is, but... a copperhead? Seriously...

Yeah, didn't you know there's an epidemic of blue copperheads!!

I'm so sorry you're feeling under the weather, and I hoped they at least fixed the A/C. People are idiots, especially when they feel safe enough to blab out whatever first pops into their tiny little brians.

Hope you feel better soon!! :sweeet:

you kidding me? you havent heard of the blue copperheaded virus. what happens is the copper starts to tarnish and the snake, all embarassed paint itself blue using blood from a chameleon and then it gets staind permanently. also all of its offspring turn out htis color and eventually they lose the venom and there fangs fall out and they go around asking "have you seen my tooth?' n=but with a lisp so it comes out "haff oo ssssss ma-tsu?"

:8: Alex, you're cracking me up!

It's amazing how many BPs are are over 10ft, isn't it? Urg, people hurt my brain. I mean, it's one thing to be mistaken and not to know... it's another to *insist* that they know. At least my maintenance guys didn't claim to know for sure if Ma-tsu is a copperhead or a python. I bet they'd be embarrassed if they knew I'd heard the whole thing!

And thanks for the well wishings! I think I just tried to change too many things at once too quickly - exercise, new diet, new meds... my body crashed. :dead: Turns out, trying to be healthy makes me sick. Go figure. Gonna take things more slowly. Don't wanna regurge, you know.

With the exception of the idiot wanting to open the cage, that was to funny.
I don't know how you didn't explode w/ laughter at the one moron.

Hope you feel better and the AC is working :)
