Are all balls drama queens when it comes to feeding?
I've had my ball for quite awhile now, and I cannot seem to get over how he acts like it's extremely hard to swallow his prey. He'll get it halfway down and then straighten himself up in the air and get higher and higher, until it's finally down. I just find it amusing, and wanted to know if there were many out there like him, or is he just being dramatic because he -can-? No. This isn't really an important question, at all. Simply something I was curious about.

He is eating the same thing as my corn snake (1 f/t properly sized rat pup per week), and my corn is so enthusiastic when it's feeding time, his prey is gone in the blink of an eye!

It sure looks like a lot of work, doesn't it? Lol! Gomez certainly has more fun making sure his rat is dead and works harder at getting it down than my colubrids, must be that skinny neck/big head ratio. ;)

They all do that - I was a bit worried the first time I saw my BP eat when he was little - it was like :ohmygod: is she gonna choke on that thing?

My male had this habbit of taking the smaller mice and rats sideways and will fight with it for about 20 min. then he gets all shaky right when he goes to finish it off. it almost looks as if he has worked him self to the point of musscule(sp?) failure. then he lays with his head sideways for another 5 min. then he is fine. I think he is a major Drama King when it comes to his feedings. Lady on the other hand will try and eat my kitten if I let her. she has this "big snake" complex. she thinks she is bigger than she really is.

my male Monty finds it necesary to play with his food before he eats it. hell bite it several times coil around it for a while to make sure its dead even though its f/t and then hell drag it around to find his favorite spot to swallow it.

not sure on the drama queen thing, but if you tried to eat a sub with no hands, you would find that extrememly hard to do:O :chew:

Mine will do that too, then as he's finishing it up he'll stick is front portion up and swallow it. I thought this was normal though.
