    Genetics Questions
Ok, so I'm not planning on breeding (its an idea for the far future, but not anytime soon!) but now that I've got this ball python, and I've been looking at all of the differnt morphs and all. I'm very intrested in the genetics side of things. I'm curious as to how to determin what the chances are for getting certin things and all. I know the Punnett Square Calculator, but is there any good site that explains all the 0.0.1 stuff, as well as the whole Het stuff. I know I sound like an idiot, but but I want to learn! :-D

I don't think you asking questions is being a idiot :) .We would rather have you ask questions then have something go wrong with your snake.Make sure you have a snack and a drink with you when you start reading all the genetic and the other info lol.

'What do the numbers I see in people's signatures mean, like 0.1.3 or 2.1.0?'

Those numbers stand for male.female.unknown of whatever species is being referred to. In your examples, 0.1.3 would mean zero males, one confirmed female, and three unknown gender and 2.1.0 would mean two confirmed males, one confirmed female, and zero unknown. If there are zero unknown, that number may be dropped and shown as 2.1 instead, but the first two for male and female are never dropped for zero values.

So in my instance, I have one ball python, and I have no idea what sex he/she is, so I would say

0.0.1 ? is that correct and then if I was to get a girl to add to my collection (downt he road) the number would change to

    0.1.1?
