Iranian Jaya Ground Boa ???

Visited Cape May this week and ran into these at a local shop. Has anyone info on them? I've seen various postings on ground pythons by this name but not much on boas. Did they mix it up? Amazing looking thing.

Ya, I don't believe they have boas over there. Boas are for the most part new world snakes(South and North American as well as some surrounding islands)

yes they do, candoia is a boa. i dont know much about them, but i think theres two species/subspecies of candoia. i know one is the solomon islands ground boa and i believe the other one is a tree boa.

EDIT: i know April knows a lot about them and she has a really good link to them on kingsnake. maybe she'll pop up around here.

Yes, thats what it looked liked. Candoia. I called the pet shop and asked about it...who supplied it...were they sure they have it labeled correctly etc... They didn't know much except about it... it came from their supplier who faxes them a "product list" They were nice enough to give me the name of the supplier, no phone number I can find though to contact them directly.

I love the faces of these guys and will be doing some research.

Candoia are awesome! There is the solomon island ground boa or isabel ground boa (candoia carinata paulsoni), pacific/new guinea tree boa, (candoia carinata carinata) and the lovely viper boa (candioa asper)
