    Watch out for glass-top tables...
Let me start out by saying, this post is pretty gruesome; please don't read on if it'll upset you that much....

    :O :O

OK.. we got a call from a friend of ours; seems that, he was sitting atop his glass-top dining room table, tying his shoes; well, the glass broke, and as he fell into it, several of his fingers were severed off. He lost so much blood, and was so lightheaded as a result, that he just barely got to the phone to dial 911.
I guess he has gotten near 1000 stitches and they are trying to save his digits, but nothing is concrete yet. I wanted to post this just in case it could help prevent something like this from happening again and also as a vent; I think I am still in shock from hearing this, hours ago.
I have glass topped end tables and am seriously looking at them in a different light.
