Sons refinishing their guitar/bass
Herps are more or less a family endeavor here, but one of the other pursuits we do en masse is music, from playing to concert-going we all dig music. Kayne (our middle son - 15) lent his Epiphone SG to a band and got it back painted white. Aside from being the last time he lends so freely he decided it was time to refinish it so he broke it down and grabbed for the sander.

Inspired by the potential - and likely tired of the stickers his Fender J Bass had accrued - Jordan (16) began breaking his down to do the same. He opted to leave the sides metallic red - given the contours and his plans to just clear-coat the top it remains to be seen how it will turn out.

So far they have done all the work themselves with me offering advice when asked and watching on proudly (NOT looking over shoulders lol!) - though I helped make sure they weren't b00fing the pickups/wiring when taking them out.
Works in progress during the time we can snag - we'll keep this updated.
Proud proud pappy I am.
I notice in a lot of pics posted here there are more than a few amps, guitars, drums etc . . . would make for a wicked thread if someone wanted to fire it up . .

Those are great pictures! Can't believe how much your guys have grown since I met them!
And I can't believe someone would borrow a guitar from someone else and then paint it! That's nuts!

I was about ballistic - he was pretty unruffled (he actually thought it looked kinda cool with the diagonal black stripes they put on it). If it were anything more than a cheaper Epiphone SG I would have gone through the roof. It was a Krylon job that looked ok at a distance but . . . white is so hard to keep clean ;)
