cresty problem...

i'm having some problems with one of my cresties... his health seems to be declining slowly and he's not growing much if at all. he stopped feeding on crickets, i'm not sure why. is there anything i can do? it seems he stopped with the crickets and the health problems started at the same time. i was thinking about mashing up some crickets into the cgd.

any suggestions?

What symptoms is he showing? Lethargic? Runny stool? Is he losing weight?

how old is the gecko? probably the best thing you can do at this point it to take it to a vet. it could be some sort of internal parasite, which while usually easy enough to treat, does require a fecal and/or vet exam.

lethargic, losing weight, crinkly looking tail... a trip to the vet is definitely in order. he's still a juvie, was doing really well until maybe a week ago.

all other cresties are doing fine though... so that's good. this is my patternless male that's not doing so hot.

a kinked tail may be a sign of metabolic bone disease and/or a calcium deficiency. it is also possible that he is dehydrated--make sure to mist the enclosure and provide a shallow dish of water for him to drink from. get him and a fecal sample to the vet asap for diagnosis--depending on exactly what the problem is it could become fatal fairly quickly if not treated properly.
