My rats are hosed!

Looks really cool! How hard is it to get that top bucket down for cleaning and refilling?

I will leave it where it is for refilling, my wife will have to use a chair :) but I built these racks spaced for water bottles, if I had built it at the same time as the reservoir system it would be a bit shorter.

I just have to pull one tube off and pull it down to clean. the top of it is sitting at about 6'4, and Im 6'2 so no problemo.

Where did you get the little sipper/nipple tips? Can you snag those from Lowes or Home Depot or the like?

That would stop the speed bag ratta-tatta action the rats get into with the water bottle when they drain it!

I have 100 bottles in my basement, imagine what it sounds like when I come home and water after being away for the weekend!

got my sippers there as well great customer service.. looks great man.. watch the clear hose though.. can increase algae .. just use a little clorox to help with that... looks good man.. keep it up

I have black hose as well, testing clear hose first.

Did you use clear hose and get algae growth? Im interested to see how it turns out, since I have 0 algae growth in my water bottles either.

Edit, I am also tempted to use black hose everywhere but in the connection from the main line TO the sipper, that way I can monitor water flow/build up near the sipper and also reduce the amount of hose being exposed to light.

Well my room has zero windows which cause me to run the lights, I think my lights are causing my algae problem in my bottles. That and the fact that I just found out my water softener needs to be replaced, thta could have something to do with it. :confused:

Im on city water in an old house, not sure what causes algae to grow, or initiates the growth, but so far nada, so we will see. My water in the bottles stays at most 3-4 days and never had any growth, Im setting these up to last 3-4 days between filling so who knows. :)

I couldnt find enough clear pipe locally so i bought 200' of black pipe just in case, and i will use that if things algae up too much
