    Dented eggs question
Two weeks into the incubation period, I have three eggs that are starting to dent. In order to resolve the issue, I added some water to the vermiculite because it was pretty clear that the mixture was too dry. I was very conservative with the mixture because I did not want them to become overly wet. In any case, will denting during this stage of the game cause serious problems? Will adding more water solve the issue? Will the eggs undent? Is there anything else that I should be doing?

    Thanks,

    Matt

It could ... depends on how dry things are/got ... could be fine or could cause anything from "very tiny" hatchling, to deformities, to death of the eggs.

If it gets the humidity to the proper level, yes. If it were me, and my medium was too dry, I would just mix a new egg box with the proper level of moisture in my medium and move the eggs being careful not to rotate them at all.

Depends on how dented they are and wether or not you actually corrected the problem. If you did and they become properly re-hydrated they will undent some, but not 100%.

Thanks for the reply. I took your advice and moved the eggs to a container with properly mixed vermiculite. Wish me luck!
