    Gave me quite a scare!
Yesterday I noticed that Kashmire had pooped and shed, so I went into his enclosure to clean up. Lifted the hide off of him to peek at his new "clothes" and he didn't move.

Went to pick him up and he was limp - my heart dropped to my knees - I just knew that he was dead! Apparently he was SOUND asleep. As soon as he woke up within a second or two of picking him up, he was back to his normal self. Whew! Talk about putting a fright into his momma! Not nice Kash, not nice!

Wow :O . Woulda freaked me out, too! I'm VERY glad that's a story we can get a chuckle out of and not anything worse!

Yeah Judy, for just a split second - I thought - I've failed as a BP mommy - how could I not have known there was something wrong with him!

Carmen does that...she often halfway stretches out behind her water bowl in the afternoon and evening, her eyes directy in the light. Because her eyes are in the light, I assume she's awake, but when I sometimes pick her up when she's in the position, she seems to do a "sleepy flinch" thing...and then wakes up and does the normal boa "gaaah! being picked up is scary!" thing.

I <3 my boa. She was such a sweety last night, curled up on my neck while I read the July issue of Reptiles...and then pooped in her cage later, knowing I was going to clean it today. That's my girl!

Kash was just seeing if he could give you gray hairs. I had one of my girls laying at an odd angle, and I had the same thought. But she just was fine, and seemed to look at me like I was absolutely crazy. Of course I get that look a lot. lol. ;)
