A mouth full

Well I thought it wouldnt hurt to try a smallish hamster, and my guy took it down like a trooper. I really like the fact that this snake will eat anything. Live, KO, F/T, P/K, you name it, and has never missed a meal.

He is looking for more as we speak. . .

also I dont get why every time I feed him he tips his water... I could move it any where and he would tip it. :irkd: Oh well.

Nice pics! Monty actually gave me a similar look after his last meal, then wandered into his hide. It's really difficult not to read emotion into their looks.

Is that about the same size prey as he always eats?

no actualy it was a little larger then he normaly gets. most of the time it is petstore mice that havent reached adult hood,and he can take down 4 of them in a sitting.

That's cool I've thought of feeding a variety like that but I'm scared they'll like them to much and refuse rat's.

Thats cool that your bp will never refuse a meal. If you don't have a problem with it feeding, why are you giving it a hamster? To me hamsters and gerbils are a last resort for non-feeding snakes, why risk your bp refusing rats and mice just to give it a hamster? :confused:

Well I have found that the mice at the local petstores are sick with something, i thought it was Myco at first but I dont have the necropsy results back on the mice I left with vet. They were all skin and bones, there hair was curled at the tips and they had bald spots with some crusty stuff along with sneezing, runny noses, and they stoped eating. I'm not feeding that to my babies!

Hamsters to me are cheaper in the long run, they have no problems breeding and from what I have heard (correct me if Im wrong) have more nutrents then mice.

That makes more sense, I wondered why. :) I am not sure about breeding hamsters, but I don't think they are as prolific as mice or rats. I think they have much smaller litters. Get yourself a breeding pair of rats. ;)

I have feed my female hasmters for along time!! and dont have a problem and she love them, well she was:300g on 9/11/05 and knaw she is 1000g and that is only on a hasmter every week

The only reason I asked is because hamsters are more $$$ than mice or rats arond here.
