breeding question
Is there any way to tell that a female ball python has breed. My reason for asking is I have a female that has gotten very grumpy and and does not want to be handled(hisses when picked up, goes back to her cage quickly). She is about 1 and 1/2 years old and 800 gram range, and was housed in the same cage with a male for about 30 hours because her cage top got a brick dropped thru it. (time frame) This over night stay was about a month ago she has eaten every week and shed about 2 weeks ago. Any ideas???

I sure hope she has not been bred as she is to young and to small. She might be snappy since she was placed in with another snake and the brick thing happening.

OK, i thought she was in her cage when the brick thing happened.I doubt she was even bred since she is still young and small. With ball pythons you never know though so keep a eye on her.

Back on topic... :)
Most likely, from what I've read, she will not fertilize or will reabsorb the eggs. If she actually ovulates, then you may have a problem...
Too bad they don't make morning after pills for BPs! :)

Re: breeding question
Thanks to those wilth helpful info. Can anyone offer any reason for my female to get grumpy for no reason? She use to be hard to put back in her cage but now she hiss when I open the cage? I have only had males in the past, are females just moody?
