    Kill me ... seriously!
My boss wants to re-inventory our whole store, AGAIN. I work at a vintage guitar store, and this is the 4th time we've done this in 6 years. I know places inventory, 1-2 times a year. However, we dont have a computer that automatically deletes guitars from the inventory. Basically someone has to manually delete it. Problem is my boss comes in when we are closed, will sell something, not tell us, then yell at us 'cause the inventory isn't correct. We tried getting on him about it, and he said to us "It's not my job to take stuff off the inventory, that's your job.". Yes, this is true, but here's the problem ... we can't take it off if we didn't know you sold it! Even when we are there, he sells stuff and doesn't tell us! Now, he wants photos with all 2000+ guitars, a description and wants to sell them online. As if he hasn't learned from our past experiences with customers and dealing with FedEx who claims department is absolute (censored), he want's to make almost every guitar buyable at the click of a button. He has a problem to with remembering things. So when I'm spending all day packing stuff I'll get a yelled at for not cleaning the store up, and why the back room is a mess.
Today me and Jeff the manager did 3 guitars ... took us about 30-35 minutes to do those. 3 down, and about 2000 left. So please, kill me ... seriously! :D

Heh....sounds like you might benefit from taking your time to do a very thorough job of inventorying each item. Before too long, your boss will have forgotten what he asked you to do and be on to some other project....

Naw, he basically wants us to do this cause he's paranoid and thinks we stole something and hopefully if something isn't right, he'll assume we stole it. Its happened before, and it'll happen again.

Egads man that sounds like quite a task. Could be worse - could be revolving around stock you have zero interest in. Do you think he'd be any more likely to track his own sales if you had it all in a database he could access and navigate easily? Sounds like a good time to convince him to take on a summer intern ;)

He will not touch a computer. He doesn't want to learn basically. He doesn't trust computers haha. When we do a credit card sale, he'll call up the credit company if it was a huge sum of money, and make sure it went through.

Nope, just REALLY spoiled and has too much money and complains whens he sells too much stuff ... I'm not kiddin' either! He was bummed out that we sold too much stuff and he worries cause stuff is going great, and he has got to think about the negative.

There are two types of people I don't trust. Those that don't like animals and those who don't use computers. If you are under 80 you have no excuse! :)
