Leo Update (DU'ers Better rethink clicking!)
The first hatchlings of this year are getting big! I had them out cleaning their tubs so I decided what better time to take pictures! They are both puppydog tame, and I've actually sexed them now...both girls!

    Here they are!

Her eyes haven't changed a bit, still completely black, refered to as eclipse eyes. :) I hope it proves genetic down the line.

Her color is holding, and gaining more orange! She's got unusual eyes also, I believe they are refered to as snake eyes. I guess Garrick has been having them pop up in his breedings also. (Purchased the parents of these from him)

I had one more normal hatch so far, its siblings egg went bad. And the other clutches from the two's parents went bad because I mixed the medium too wet. Currently I have 10 eggs in the incubator with a few due in about 2 weeks, and the last laid due in about two months. So I'll be up to my ears in leos. Right now I'm giving my females some recoup time without the males. They've done very good this season for me, I've just made a few mistakes incubating along the way.

Yes it is! Well as long as you are FedEx certified, guess I gotta get working on that! ;)

By the way, I took some shots of the little normal male hatchling for you. He's definitely got some spunk to him, classic normal w/ some cool lavander stripes running down each side.

aw he is cute! those stripes down his sides are pretty neat too.

btw, you can ship geckos via UPS without any kind of certification. just an option (the one i use at the moment). :)

Really?! I suppose I package him the same as I would normally, but box him up labeled live harmless animal? Fragile? What would I select for shipping options? Does UPS have a priority overnight option?

Nvm, I would use UPS Next day air Early A.M. or UPS Next Day Air 10:30. Interesting!

Just curious because he is one I'll be letting go of.

Right now they are on a diet of mealies, constant supply dusted with MinerAll. They also receive the occasional sm crickets, but its easier and more economical to feed mealies (breeding my own!) and they've fattened up fast on them.

The male will be with me for another week or two and then I'll post when he's for sale, if anyone is interested PM me.

yes, package them the same as you would if shipping fedex with an insulated box and whatnot and ship next day air. you might need to add a cold pack too depending on where you are sending them--it can get terribly hot on the truck and possibly in some of the warehouses along the way too.

i also feed mainly mealworms to hatchlings and juvies but they do seem to enjoy crickets from time to time too. you are certainly right about mealworms being a ton easier though.
