    They came!!!!!
OK all of my ordered Bp's came today on time and in good condition. I 0.5 2006 babies weighing 58, 56, 48, 36, and smallest 28 grams. I had ordered four but he threw me in a freebie. I am very pleased with this purchase from this breeder santoury@aol.com and wanted to leave a good word. Also a female 2005 her albino from Jim Alles at www.reptileguru.com, she is a great chubby girl eyeing in close to 400 grams. Last but certainly not least my male 2005 het albino from RDR. I definately got the best from the best. Great transactions from all.

Well now is the bad news. I took great pics of all packaging and of course all the snakes, but the computer I have to do my pictures on, the mouse is kinda spazzing out. They WILL be up for tomorrow.

After reading some other posts about babies, are those weights possible or reasonable? I was told they had been fed several times already. The smallest one pooped today, so I know he has eaten.

They seem very small to me - I thought that a good weight for a hatchling is about 70 grams. But Adam, or someone else would be better qualified to answer that.

Do babies lose weight, after they absorbe the rest of the egg, and then have to wait for shed? They will be alright on a normal feeding schedule right?

I would think that they would be fine if they've been eating. Just let them get settled in and try feeding them in about a week.

I bet they're cute as a button though!

most of my babies this year have weighed between 65-85 grams. did the seller get a few meals into the babies before shipping them out? babies will do fine on a once a week feeding schedule, alot of people will feed babies once every 5 days, that seems to be fine to with babies.

Yeah they are, that 28 gram one is super tiny, I have some fuzzy mice ready for him, I'm gonna start the others on rats

Personally, I would never ship ball pythons that are that small ... I'd be more than a little embarrassed sending out a 28 gram ball python ... but that's just me. I like them to be big and plump before they leave my place. If I can hold my customers off for enough feedings, I like to wait until they are at least 100 grams if not 125. That said, I'm just a guy breeding and selling snakes ... not the be all end all authority on ball pythons ... if you're happy with the animals and the deal then ROCK ON I guess. ;)

And for whatever it's worth, hatchling ball pythons can and will defecate without "eating" their first meal. When they come out of the egg, their bellies are full of yolk which can sometimes be passed.

Congrats on your babies!!! :) I have two and one is tiny maybe 30... and the other is around 65 grams... she has had 5 meals or so with me... but im a newbie so i dont really know how big the should be :P

Just curious... does anyone now if there is a correlation between how much yolk a baby "takes in" (for lack of better terminology) and how soon after hatching they will eat???
