    Lost both Ornamentals
Man oh man was I upset last night. Winslow and I were watering the spiders......
And first we found my female (uknown age) Sri Lanken Ornamental dead. She had been doing the death curl for about a week so we knew it was coming but it was still sad.
And then the next enclosure we watered was my indian ornamental, Winslow went to check in her tree burrow and low and behold she was gone too. (We don't know her age either)
Both were rescues and I've had both for over eight years.
Dang it was a hard blow. Out of the 14 or so arachnids we're kept by those two girls were my favorite.
Sorry for the bad news, I'm sure you other eight legged lovers can understand.
    Thanks for letting me share

Condolences, Rusty - 8 years is a good chunk of time to get to know an animal and inevitable it makes the absence harsher - and couple that for 2. Easy to understand how they'd be your favorite. I hadn't had my longipedum for more then 2 years and I regretted losing it despite its being such a spastic terror - I can imagine how you must feel.

I'm sorry to hear that, Rusty. Even though I'm not into arachnids at all, I can certainly understand the feeling of losing a beloved pet...and to lose two is just a double blow.

I just lost one of my A.Avicularias (my very first tarantula) so I can sympathize.

Rusty I'm so sorry to read this, please pass my thoughts on to Winslow as well. I'm not into spiders either but any wonderful creature that shares it's life with you is a terrible loss when their time here is up. I know you gave those spiders the best life possible and that is your gift, the wonderful work you and your family do for all the special creatures you bring into your home. :grouphug:

Sorry to hear about your loss. Most people never understand what a small creature can mean to someone. We have had our frogs for a couple years, never expected them to live this long. Didn't have much expereince at the time we got them. It would really upset me if I were to lose them. Sounds like you did good by them to have them 8 years. Most rescues tend to come from less than ideal homes.:(

    *hugs*

I think approximately 8 years is the general lifespan for pokies.
