Power inverters, generator, or heat packs for heat supply.

cause its easyer to take the snakes in small tubs than glass tanks... and i probably will after the huricane but we go to my church cause nothing can hurt it :) its huge brick buldings :) then we go home after the hurican is over clean up and go to my friends house for a "we survived: cook out lol and go swiming hehe or in my case look for snakes :) so the tubs and stuff are for the night we go to the church and theres no point in bringing 2 10 gal and a 40 gal :)

Please be sure to double check with the church to see if they will allow it. I would also suggest one small tote and put the snakes into bags. As long as it doesn't get too hot or cold(not likely to get too cold around here even during a hurricane) they will be fine for a short period. YOu can also turn one loose at a time in the contianer to drink and stretch out.
BUT Double check the church's policies. If someone starts to freak out over there being snakes in containers, they might not freak over snakes tied into bags. Buy cheap pillow cases if nothing else(walmart) and use shoelaces to tie them securely.
YOur snakes can also sometime stay in the car during short periods of time ONLY WHEN THE TEMPURTURE IS RIGHT!!! Do not forget how hot cars get down ehre, and they do it quickly.
In the event of a hurricane I have multiple bags and each bag will be marked as I toss snakes into them with the snakes tag,(type sex etc) since I have hets. Then a certain number will be placed into a tote(holes already drilled. That way the snakes are totally secure, and I have totes to put them into later, just not all of them can be out at once. Remeber that lots of snakes do just fine in a bag during long periods of shipping.
Always have water, and dishes. If you think you have enough water, get more. You will run out.
I've living my entire life in Florida, and I ALWAYS know what I am going to do in the event I have to evacuate.
Generators (unless they are your OWN) will be allotted to more important things than heating a snake container. Trust me, people will not understand why you want to HEAT snakes when they want to have fans and such blowing instead. If it is YOUR generator then you won't have to worry.
I don't mean to sound harsh, but having gone through this better to be prepared than think it will be nothing.

Feel free to think of expanding this to tornado, earthquake and wildfire preparedness...albeit earthquakes have less warning. =P

they do, I bring my snakes in all the time :) in fact i brought akua and sleet in to a thing they were doing about fear. mrs. tracy wanted me to bring them in and set one on her lap and one aroun her neck. cause she is afraid of snakes but as the snakes were on her she was talking to the kids about fear and how you can over come it by asking God and stuff.

and when we have VBS i bring one in, normaly sleet cause hes smaller and no one is rlly scared of a small snake so i let kids touch it and stuf (but i always tell them, "This snake is ok, but if you find a snake in your yard go tell your mom or dad cause not all snakes are nice like this one")

i am always aware of who is around me cause i know some people have a real fear. and our pastor thinks its cool that i try to help people get over thier fear insted of scaring them more :)

    back on topic now haha
