Looking for an active reptile, thats easy to handle as well
ive had experience with my gf's BP (cobredos, that was me posting earlier with the changing of the cage). however i want a reptile thats easy enough to care for, but also more active than a B.P. however handling should be possible.
what would you suggest?

Imo a corn snake would be a good choice.There easy to take care of and very docile.They dont get too big.Also there are a lot of morphs available.

id prefer B.P sized if possible for a snake, or a lizard but i think the lizards arent quite as handleable as snakes are.

Handleable active lizards would be something like a leopard gecko, crested gecko, bearded dragon, or ackie monitor.
snakes.. you want something fatter like a BP? Corn snakes can get 4-5' long, just not so thick as a BP. There are lots of different colubrids that are nice.. kings, milks, rat snakes etc.
You could look into jungle carpet pythons, brazilian rainbow boas, hog island boas.. etc.

how are jungle carpet pythons are they as "picky" for cages as are B.P's im sure i could read the care sheet if i see one.

Why not a lizard instead of a snake? Get you a beardie or ackie ;)

Picky? All snakes need proper temperatures and humidity.. but JCP aren't so shy. Especially babies will spend a lot of time hanging out on a branch if provided, but hides are still necessary. You can use a tank as long as you cover most of the lid to keep heat and humidity in.
It is fairly common for baby JCP to be a bit nippy, but if you have the patience, you will likely be rewarded with a beautiful yellow and black docile python.

i vote for a bearded dragon too! very hardy, and you can handle them all you want.

how much are Jungle Carpets? and what are we looking at for bearded dragons?
