odd behaviour
ok, so today its really nice outside, and the thermostat says its 82 in here right now (no a/c) and Nag is outside of his warm hide and just lying next to it. well, mostly out of it anyway. he is half in/half out. is he too warm? should I turn off the heat lamp and leave the uth to take care of things or what?
he's never done this before so I assume its a heat issue. thermo in the tank says its about 90 to 95 (its a little hard to read right now since I cant lean over). is this too warm? can there actually BE a too warm as long as its under a hundred?
humidity is still looking good, and he is going into shed yet again, and I just want to make sure he is ok. seems ok, but since I havent dealt with this before, cant hurt to ask, ya know? :)
thanks

Re: odd behaviour
Those temps sound fine to me. I think he just loves to see ya :)

Re: odd behaviour
He's probably fine and he's probably thermoregulating, which means your husbandry is good. A snake gets too warm and he'll move to a cooler area to "cool off". A snake gets too cold and he will seek warmth.
I find Carmen coiled up outside her warm hide but under a large leafy in the morning, but sometime late afternoon, she'll stretch half her body out along the back of the viv, behind her water bowl. The next morning, she'll be coiled up again. Just moving around to adjust body temp and check out what's going on. =)

Re: odd behaviour
Our will do as Cass said, move from hide to hide, lay out in the open occasionally, sometimes laze about on the flat roofs of their hides. I figure as long as their temps and humidity are within the correct ranges then the snake knows what it needs to do. I do tuck my Acu-Rite probe just inside the warm side hide as the big black rubber hides I use do build up/retain a fair bit of heat.

Re: odd behaviour
I just had him out cause i kept seeing him and when I see him moving around, I cant help but get the urge to handle him :)
he seems to be doing well, and i think I should see a shed within the next 2 to 3 days. fat little bugger too. I cant believe how fast he is growing. I'm sure he'll be fine, but I am a worry wort and always will be :)
thanks folks, I apreciate the responses
