Feeding cues?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has noticed any behavioural cues when a BP wants to be fed. I know you're supposed to have a regular feeding schedule, but I was just curious if anyone has noticed them actually doing something when they fancy a meal, regardless of whether it's feeding time or not.

no idea, mine hasnt even eaten yet!

My guy's eat weekly but I've heard that when there out and about much more than normal it's a good sign. I'M HUNGRY GET INTO MY BELLY!!

Actually, with mine, when they are out and about - they are more likely to refuse a meal than when they are able to ambush from their hides.

Well they are all unique but we do notice a lot more lurking behaviour the day before feeding day. Basically their heads/necks poking out of their hides watching for something to ambush. Some of them will start to actively search their tubs for prey by Wednesday (Thursday evening being feeding night around here). We have one that often climbs on top of his hide and glares about watching for something furry and warm to wander by below him LOL.

Oh and some of the snakes that are used to the feeding routine, actually go into strike position and watch the tank lid as they have come to know that is where She/He Who Drops Rats from Heaven will appear shortly LOL. Snakes are no dumb bunnies apparently :P

I'm super easy to feed. Doritos are the food of choice :D

On feeding night, after leaving the rat cages next to their rack for about 20 mins, most of them are already out of their hides, in their "s" position, staring out at the room. Some of the time, the rat doesn't even hit the floor of the tub before they grab it.

In my experience with snakes, I have observed a very obvious stance and posture when they are getting ready to feed. They move their neck into an S position and they almost shake or wobble right before they strike. Snake adrenaline maybe???
