    Petopia or Pet Penitentiary?
Justin and I had to get out of the house yesterday, so we were driving around and saw a petstore called Petopia. Hn. My curiosity peaked so we went in. HUGE mistake. There were a few large iquanas in there who were shedding. Okay. That's normal.

What drove me nuts is that they had this beautiful burmese (at least I believe it was a burm) in this thirty gallon tank, she was about...six or seven foot, her tank was COVERED in urates and poop, she was buried in her water dish, and she just looked miserable.

They had three balls in a ten-gallon tank, they had no thermometers...it was just...horrid.

I really did want to cry. They had two huge tegus in a forty-fifty gallon and they "seemed" so stressed out.

They had a sulphur crested cockatoo in a fairly small cage...I wanted to take him/her home with me. Meh.

It was just an overall crappy experience.

That place sucks, and they'll be out of business in no time.

You know, I thought that about a crappy place in FL I used to HAVE to get frozen feeders from when I ran out or needed live. Burms in 10 gallon tanks, no heat on anything, horrible smell in the whole place, animals caked in feces. I reported them to Florida Fish and Wildlife and called every 3 days to follow up. Their answer was that they visited the store and it was fine in their opinion. Unfortunately places like that manage to stay open. I hope you can get something done...
