Wow, and a question

Part 1: Wow! Halen is turning "blue" and I saw her soaking in her water last night. Lemme tell you, she's REALLY in a bad mood haha. I know they get moody but sheesh, she's like ready to strike at me when I pass by her tank.

Part 2: I went to give her, her weekly sunday mouse, and she missed the mouse, and now has a lil piece of coconut substrate stuck in her mouth. Most of it got out, but since she's in a REALLY bad mood, I dont want to attempt anything. Should I just wait it out to see if she'll get the piece out?

If she doesn't get it unstuck in about 5 minutes and doesn't seem to be making any progress, I would try and give her a hand. I know she'll be oh so happy about, but if you hold behind the head you should be able to remove it with some tweezers.

My new girl just went blue, and she was majorly cheesed off at me. She must have struck at me at least two or three times. I just misted a bit (as she's in a quarantine tank), and covered the majority of the tank, so she can have some quiet time. It's a major difference from the girl I removed from the bag who was pretty relaxed and didn't even hiss. :rolleyes:

Actually she got it loose. Yeah when I saw her strike at me I felt a lil bummed out. I'd pass by her tank, and I'd see her lil nose sticking out, and she'd strike at me, and back off and coil up into striking mode again. I got her in 70% humidity. so im guessing in 3-4 days I'll have a new cleaned up snake! I can't wait to get the old Halen back! Not this unhappy BP haha.

Oh good. I would still recommend covering her enclosure. That way she's not excessively stressed.

Her tank is totally covered. I have a light over it, but it's timely lit. Cause of the stress of shedding and feeding I'm gonna leave her be for a week. I'll just change her water everyday though. But I won't handle her for a week.

Ah. Nevermind then. You'll have to keep us updated on how she does. :D

Hope the shed goes well and you have a prettier, less moody snake in a short while. Some of ours get in a snit during shed cycles (most notably the large male BCI who does what can only be described as the snakey equivalent of a full blown pout), some don't seem to be bothered by shedding much at all. As with all things snakey, it seems to be unique to the particular snake how they handle pretty much everything.

Yeah my 2 other snakes were totally fine during shed. Halen though ... Haha well, if she ever had an ex BF she hated, I guess I would fit the bill. But, I'll give her, her space, and not bug her. I mean I think I'd be moody if I had to take my clothes off with no arms or legs! Haha.
