    Divie and Conquer or not??
Ok, here is my thought... Would it be ok to keep 2 juvie BP's in a 55 gal aquarium as long as it is divided down the center with a piece of Plexi or something? I haven't really decided on the divider because I wanted to run this by you all since you would have probably either thought about or encountered something like this before. Also, if this would work... Would the Plexi need to have some holes for air circulation or would it even matter? My thoughts were to put a 55 gal size UTH in the center of the divider so that it heats both sides evenly. Any thoughts or concerns are greatly appreciated as this is so far all in theory! Thanks!!

Sounds ok to me. That would keep them separated. No need for holes in the plexi. As long as both sides have a temp gradient and plenty of hides you are good to go.

Thanks Jamie, that's what I was thinking too... I'll have to play around with it to find a way to keep the plexi there... Is 100% silicone caulk ok as long as it has plenty of drying time?

Yup. Let it dry and air out until the fumes dissipate. I would use the stuff made for sealing aquariums rather than just any old silicone from home depot.

I would probably use a opaque divider to give them more privacy, but then again in rack systems they can see each other and do just fine :)

Sounds good! Make sure you post pictures of the results.

Thanks for the tips guys and I'll definitely have to put up some pics... I haven't put any pics of anything on here yet! I love looking at everyone else's pics, I just hope my photographic skill measures up!! ;)

I just noticed that the title of this thread is "Divie and Conquer..." instead of "Divide" like I had intended... Oh well...

My only thought would be that the snakes are obtained from the same source or have already been through quarantine. I wouldn't introduce a new animal in this fashion, but that's just me and I'm a freak. :psychotic

I agree with you Christie! I was planning on getting them from the same breeder at the same time.

I have a 60 gallon split in half with plexiglass and it works wonderfully. I have my BP on one side and my Rosy Boa on the other. It is perfectly seales with silicone so no humidity gets to the Rosy.
