i purchase the eggs and grow them up myself... i supply two petstores with silkies :)

they are so easy to grow as long as you keep everything nice and clean and make sure to use tweezers... and they are sooooooooooo healthy ;)

    Goddess --

My Leo loves his silkworms, we buy them by the "cup" at the reptile show when they're available (only about 4 months per year). When we buy a bunch of them, they tend to die off in the cup before my leo gets to them all. He generally eats 1 or 2 a day and the "chow" in the bottom of the cup doesn't last long enough.

My supplier at the show says he recommends mulberry leaves for food.

I'd love to be able to supply my guy (and my 2 possums) with silkies year round. How difficult are they to grow? Do you have a house surrounded by mulberry trees?

what i mean by 'you live in silkworm heaven' is the fact you live in the states... so much cheaper and easier to get eggs and chow than up here in canada!
