Normal behavior after feeding?

Last night was feeding day, and Flannery had her first pre-killed instead of live (the rat was so aggresive that I was afraid to feed it live).

Normally, after eating, she goes into her warm hide, and pretty much stays there for a couple days. But last night, she came out her usual time and was exploring like normal. And today, she's been out and moving around a bit.

Does this mean the rat is going to come back up? If she kept it down all night, can I be pretty sure it will stay down?

I'm a little worried, because the rat was a little bit bigger than what she'd been eating before. She was on adult mice, but yesterday, the store only had very very small mice, so I got a small rat instead.

No.

Usually, if a meal is too big to the point of causing a regurg, the snake is not active at all ... it just kind of lays there and then BOO YA!

After I read your description of regurg on another thread, it has become my big fear. lol. I don't have a strong stomach.

The smell of a regurge is really something you'll never get used to! Unmistakable!

That's what happens to me after eating too much...

Regurge actually has very little smell (within 24-48 hours) compared to vomit (after 24-48 hours). The vomit smell is miserable..

Unfortunately I have experienced both......:puke:...it ain't pretty!!!...plus I have a phobia.....She was probably enjoying the taste of the rat, and perhaps became active as a way of letting you know that's what she wants next time????

Thats awesome that you got her switched over to rats so easy!! When i got Davu he took the switch very well to! After hearing all the horror storys about balls being picky and everything i was all worked up about it but now he is doing awesome with them!!
