I have seen tons of box turtles out in the last few weeks. It is great to know they are in such a high population around here. This guy took some great pics, here are a few:

They sure are cass. Box turtles are one of my favorite animals to see in the wild. Usually they are very shy and 'go into' their shell when someone gets near....this one allowed me to get a little closer so I managed a few pics ;)

Nice pics!! And you're absolutely right about the hiding in the shell thing... It seems like forever before they come out again sometimes!! Or maybe I'm just way too impatient!! ;)
