a few clutches (lots O pics)
The past couple weeks have been pretty hectic, but here are a few shots of what's been goin' on in the snake room lately.

This girl layed the day after we got back from vacation, just like she was supposed to. https://ball-pythons.net/forums/imag...es/biggrin.gif I was expecting 5 eggs, but was pleasantly surprised. She was bred to a 66% poss het clown.

A few days later, this girl dropped. The first pic is right when I woke up, she was about halfway through, the second and third after I got home from work. She layed 8 eggs last year, and weighed 1000 grams more this year than last.

This girl was due the next day, but decided to keep me waiting a couple extra days. 8 good eggs, and 2 slugs. She layed 7 good eggs last year.

So far, this season has gone quite well. We're averaging 8.5 good eggs per clutch, and the incubator is filling up with more on the way https://ball-pythons.net/forums/imag...es/biggrin.gif!! I couldn't be happier with results.

Congrats on all the awesome luck so far! I hope it continues well into the hatching phase and beyond! I love pictures of females curled around their eggs...they're just so beautiful!

A quick question that the last picture brings to mind: Do you keep the slugs in the incubator with the rest of the eggs? Or are they just in there for the picture and then tossed?

I just leave 'em in for the pic for a record of the entire clutch, then they get tossed. I'm just glad those are the only two I've had all season. I agree, pics of females on eggs are my favorites!!

So have you ever had a slug that turned out to be a viable egg...just looked like a slug?
