    Plastic Tubs!?!
    How would u heat a plastic tub besides using heating pads... i was thinking about it and a lamp would not work... i have one laying around with a white cover and thought about using it for the new bp im gonna get tm! Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

    When you say "besides heating pads" do you mean under tank heaters or human heating pads??


    I think the majority here will agree that a UTH or flexwatt (YES!!) is the best to use, or course in conjunction with a thermostat or rheostat.

    I suggest you get your temps and humidity in line before you subject an animal to less than ideal conditions. With a plastic tub you can use a store bought UTH (sold under a couple different brands including Zoomed and Cobra) or a human heating pad with no automatic shutoff feature. Either way you need a rheostat or thermostat to control the temps or you risk thermal burns on your snake. You also need a good quality thermometer to make sure you are getting 82-84 on the cooler side and 92-94 on the hot spot. Hope this helps!
