ranco thermo stat configuration? help!! ;/

hi, just recieved my ranco t-stat couple of days ago. im wondering why i can't set up the heat to be more than 30 ;/
if i press Set for the 1st time . i get C or F
then there's S1 its on 90 , the dif1 is 30 and there's H1 and C1 ?
anyone can help?

When you plug the unit in, it will display the temp the probe is sensing.

press set once and you select either Celsius (C) or Fahrenhiet (F) degrees
press set again and select the temp you want by using the up/down arrows, you'll see (S1) in the display.
press set third time and set the differential range to 1, this is how many degrees from the temperature set point you want the unit to get before it turns on again. You'll see (Dif 1) in the display.
press set again and you choose (HI) for heating.

It sounds like you're trying to set the temp when the unit is in the differential display, Rancos have a differential range of 1 to 30 degrees, so if it won't let you go higher than 30, you're trying to set the wrong thing. You need to set S1 at about 90, and dif1 at 1. You'll have to take readings in the tank to determine the actual temp and adjust the Rancos setting accordingly.

thank you. but right now i can't use it since its not working anymore. matt told me to send it back and it will be replaced. so it will be another 3 weeks until i get the new one.
