    An eye roll, please...
OK; a few weeks ago me and my man went to a pet store in.. well, I don't want to bad-mouth, so we'll just say Western NY. Well, we got on the subject of BPs of course; and this guy starts talking about how they breed their BPs; He actually said they feed EVERY DAY to get them up to size. I mean, is this what big breeders do; it seems heinous to me, to offer a BP food every day...! He was the kinda guy you could not explain things to; he could do no wrong in his own mind, I am sure. He had some other erraneous information like, how they were keeping all of these venomous snakes at their place, even going so far as to say they had a BLACK MAMBA... I mean sure, they might, but it just seems stupid to me to brag about things like that. He dissed me by saying that goldfish were basically pets for losers (and you all know how obsessed I am with goldfish...)
I am honestly not making this stuff up.

When I hear someone talking like that, I am usually quite sure they are blowing nothing but pure smoke. The man probably wouldn't know a black mamba if it bit him, and only recognizes bp's because they have them in the store. Just the insistance that they feed all their snakes every day tells the lie. What bp in this world do you know that would actually accept food that often? Not to mention an entire breeding colony of them! I mean...come on! ..... (There's your eye roll...wish I could make it bigger! LOL)

Wow sounds like a real creep. Sounds like the kind of guy who just makes up stuff that sounds 'cool' and says it.

And as for goldfish.. I guess he's never seen a nice black moor or a red cap oranda.

I know the "Type" you mean. In my opinion, people like this are in it just for the "thrill factor," plus the quick money without showing any actual compassion for the animal :( I hope the Black Mamba Tags him..several dozen times :groinkick (Just venting. An idiot getting tagged by a venomous snake is just bad news for the entire herp community).

I know; lol, that "legends in their own mind" line reminded me of some of my ex'es :blahblah:

People like him remind me why I would usually prefer to curl up on the couch with a good book!

Maybe it's just me being me but I have this thing about respecting even the simplest of creatures. Seems to me if this guy can be so creepy about goldfish, he's just a creep about anything outside his tunnel vision life. Sure goldfish aren't the top of the heap when it come to fish but they are still a lovely fish in their own right and probably largely responsible for getting most people into having fish (didn't we all have a goldfish in a bowl as kids?)

Ugh. People like drive me nuts. I'm all about supporting the herp society, however, he sounds like a complete and total fake. I highly doubt that some guy, working in some local pet store, would actually have black mambas considering they're quite dangerous with how fast they are. I also highly doubt that he's feeding them every day. That'd be quite rediculous.

This guy reminds me of the people I talk to when I'm in the library. They see pictures of the kids and start rambling. "Like wow! That's poisonous, isn't it? Yeah. Poisonous. You're crazy." "It's a ball python. They're not poisonous." "No, you're wrong." "Sure. Okay." "You're a liar." "Yeah. I am. I've had to go to the hospital twice for being bitten. Her venom is so toxic. Yeah. I'm lucky my fingers are still intact." -Rolls eyes.-

I just feel sorry for these people. They think they sound intelligent and well-informed, but they end up coming off as morons.

Oh. Goldfish are cute. I tend to stay away from fish though. I accidently dropped my betta down the sink. O_O Bad experience. Scarred for life.
